There has been a lot of discussion regarding the price of gas on the Peninsula and throughout Alaska.  While the following article doesn’t answer all of our questions, it does provide some insight.

Now that the dust has settled and I am back in town, I hope to provide updates on at least a weekly basis during the interim.  The first update is this report from the Alaska Clearinghouse which is providing stimulus funding assistance to communities and non-profit organizations.

WHAT’S NEW:

     The past month has been a busy one as two new staffers, Chris Perez from the Rasmuson Foundation and Patrick Hatch from the US Dept. of Housing and Urban Development have joined the Clearinghouse. They join Adison Smith from the Denali Commission and myself in trying to help the large number of organizations from across the State that are looking to the Clearinghouse for assistance.
